building cupboards

Post by oneday on Wed 29 Apr 2015, 6:24 pm

with the down turn in Karratha we are finding a bit of time to make cupboards for a fellow prospector for his troopy.
Nothing fancy they r built on a budget so a bit of elbow grease will suffice instead of expensive $200 slides.

just as well hes not in a hurry coz we are building them as we find time day to day.

I think he will be satisfied--well at least his gear will be sorted for once.

MUST admit these 18v power tools are the ducks nuts and certainly make life easy. no messy power cords to trip over and away u go.

The boxes are all but complete with one more draw to be made and fitted into the slot. Thank god he says. The draw has the handle screwed into place and slides in and out with a bit of Armstrong help.

A quick coat of paint on the top and in the recess for the draws and we are looking good.

when we get some time next week we will re do the wiring mishmash in the rear of the vehicle.

I'm glad hes not in a hurry for his troopy but it was a fill in job for us.

A set of draws like this would easily set u back around the $3k mark but we have kept it down below a grand.

me mate has a slide to go in but its only a slider not a drop down slide.

For those who are looking at getting a fridge slide then I highly recommend a DROP DOWN slide.
especially if u have cupboards in the rear of your rocket.

COST--about $600 including the speaker boxes--mind u without the labour content.

we done this in between jobs at the workshop.

at least MY TIME (mark) will be organised instead of having shit fly everywhere when traveling around the country side. lol!
