Halls Creek caravan park

Post by Justdoit on Sun 31 May 2015, 9:24 am

Has anyone here camped at Halls Creek caravan park. We are heading up there in July for something different, we usually bush camp but as there is ground not to far out . I am thinking hot showers every night but not sure of the security of the camp when we are out bush all day. Any feedback on camping in the district or road conditions of the Duncan and Tanami roads would be very much appreciated.

Well mate I can tell you that the road from Yuendameou community  to the Granites gold mine  was graded about a month ago ,it was a horror before that ,but if your going up that way in July it'd pay to inquire before travelling on the Tanami section ,as the road would of gone to s#%* again ,unless its been graded again ( which I very much doubt ) rabbit flat road house isn't in existence any more either ...... .can't help with the rest .

We should be in Halls Creek shortly, possibly stay first night in the CP. before heading bush. Will report on as we find it.

Been out the back of brockmans 12 days without a sniff of a nug.......bugger.
Came in today, shop, fuel and water. And happened on the great kimberley ripoff, no risk!
The only available travellers water is the council run info centre where they supply a hose and water meter attached,
supervise your fill and then blithely charge TWENTY CENTS per litre. If like us you need around 180 l the cost is 36 bucks.....FFS!
No thanks, so here we are in the CP at 36/nite water on the house!
The CP is ok, good amens. W/machines etc. Looks like we will be back here.
Detecting progress will be continued.

Caravan park is good. The noise from the locals after dark is unbelievable. Screaming, fighting drunken rampages. We moved out and stayed at Old Halls creek caravan park . Quite and peaceful.
Might be different now that was a couple of years ago.
We came up the tanami, plenty of spots to pull over. We have stayed at rabbit flat a few times but as said its gone now. Have fun its all good whatever you do.
