listing all my gear

Post by oneday on Tue 23 Jun 2015, 7:09 am

going to clean out the troopy this weekend and the mrs comes up and says how in hell do u know where all the gear is?

well she got me thinking and its only on a very remote occasion that I agree with her so I am going to itemise all my gear which is stored in 10 draws and leave a report in the back draw.

the plot thickens.

she brought a 2 man tent for the mutt--she loves me?

Razz  Struth yeah oneday ,had the same experience with my troopy as well ,took every thing out of my false floor compartments to ,and struth coundn't believe how I'd managed to store so much gear underneath , ( no wonder the back springs are starting to sag ) now I have a record I keep in the side pocket ,reminding me of what I've got and where it is ,trouble is I forget to update it Rolling Eyes once in the situation where I needed a secondary fuel filter ( bought some bad fuel ) and ,yep had forgotten to replace my filters after my last oil/fuel change !!

Same as that meself Hugh & Ray. My Patrol only has two front seats, the whole back from there is long range fuel tanks and water tanks plus custom made storage drawers (me!) and flat top storage for the freezer, toolbox (about 59 kgs) and the genny and anything else I can squeeze in. Like you, I've lost track of what's actually in there.

But my reasoning is,,,,if I do have a calamity then first job is to "check in the back" to see if I have something that will fix it. If not,,,,,,,then that's when the real problem starts.

It's no wonder the Lovells rear shockies fell apart with one actually falling off completely! Snapped the body pins,,,,,,,,,the whole box 'n dice!

u forget Robert--I run 14ply tyres which have a much heavier load rating than your standard 8ply tyres which come standard on all Toyotas when brought into the country.

I have never seen an insurance company put a vehicle over the weigh bridge after an accident..even so most of me gear would be scattered over the country side or ransacked.

good luck out there.
