we were out and about on the weekend and was interested to see if the download would make much difference running the 7K HOT.

in rocky country it wasn't a problem -quiet as I wanted it--

on loose ground, river wash and with the temps starting to get up over 38'c then it was becoming a bit of a pain running it hot.

u had to get the ferrite out on quite a few occasions, even done the dyslectic walk and swing on a few occasions just trying to get it running a bit smooth.

I kept swapping between general and Xtra deep with the latter running quieter with a throw of with target recognition not as pronounced as if u r running in General or HY in Normal--gain on 18-20. With the S at 14 it was quieter but I want to push the boundaries.

the trouble is we walk about 100m and the ground formation quickly changes--rocky to deep soil/clay.

I did manage to nail over half an oz and me partner in crime also nailed over half an oz using the 5K with the Elite coil. Mind u I follow him and always pick up a few that he misses. at the end of the day we go halves so it doesn't really matter who finds the most--so long as I find more lol! lol! The mrs using the 2300 also pigged 6 pieces for 3.4gms...she was happy.

cant let her get too much otherwise I'll have to do the cooking--bugger that.

I found yesterday it still has it's moments, i was in an area yesterday where it was still howling it's tits off.
We moved to another area after lunch, did a noise cancel and sweep, it was chattering it's tits off like i have never heard it do before, so much so i thought i must of stuffed the GB procedure up so i performed it all again and still no better, the EMI was very bad though.

yeah the trick to the 7 is to drop he S down to about 12 and adjust the threshold to suit,
auto smoothing on and Difficult with General.

that should quiet the beast.

use the ferrite with the GB.

at the end of the day u might miss some sub grammars but personally its not a big deal.

Yeah Ray there are plenty of ways to shut it up i guess, it is an amazing detector though and i am very happy with the versatility.
