I get asked all the time what settings I run on my GPZ.

well the simple answer is FLAT OUT.

first up after I turn it on I will get the ferrite out and GB on the area that I am swinging on.

I flick between HY-G and Xtra Deep

rarely take it out of NORMAL.

Sensitivity wound up to 20--sometimes if the noise is giving me the poops I will back of say back it of as low as 16.

last week ran the Threshold up around the 40's.

Auto Smoothing was either On or Off depends on the ground--Clays to Rock--just for a bit of comfort but generally OFF.

volume is whatever shakes your cage--I have pretty good hearing but this one is an individual thing. Flat out.

Battery life--if detecting for a full day then I change my battery out after 4 hours for a fresh fully charged one, or at least recharge the original battery overnight so u can start with a full tank.

I have walked over an area after midday and I haven't picked up gold yet walked the same cappuccino strip next morning in Xtra deep and pinged gold, not fly shit either, 3 grammars and up, go figure. Once I have pinged a target in Xtra Deep after I have cleared the ground with the help of my pick then I will try GENERAL to enhance the signal.

u have to be on the ball and an adventurist with your machine in my opinion.

Wet ground will cause all sorts of problematic algorithms to go hay wire ..one for JP.
Thank God, Allah and Budda or who ever rots yah socks, that we never got wet and neither did it rain on us.

I keep saying to people that have any sort of detector--The best way to learn your machine is to leave your pick behind.

If u r fortunate enough to have the mrs lurking around with a 2300 then drag her butt over coz she can be used to pin point the target without digging a bloody big crater to get a 14" coil in. On occasion u will have to dig deeper to get the 2300 to find the target.

good luck

regards
