GPS tracking

Post by oneday on Fri 24 Jul 2015, 6:14 am

would like to see how many prospectors out there have turned on the gps function on their 7k and whether there are any tricks or short cuts to share.

Is this feature worthwhile?

Yep, I tried it. I was bippin' and got a really good signal and had to go back to the car for a bigger pick. It was a long way back so I took the ZED off and rested it near a tree. I thought "I've got the GPS turned on so I'll find it again, no probs".

That was three days ago! I found me car but the ZED is still out there!! Bloody useless, that GPS!!

good for recording finds I reckon Ray, also records machine settings used at the time.
beats dragging a chain but not a substitute for a real GPS as Wedgy found out  Wink

G'day Ray

I've been using the GPS feature for sometime now, it is handy, but leaves a lot to be desired as far as a GPS goes. It desperately needs an Import/Export feature so the findpoints/waypoints and tracks etc can be easily loaded into Google Earth or Oziexplorer or other mapping programmes.

I have been making a list of its' short comings and will be letting the appropriate people know in due course.

cheers dave
