All up we spent 3 months door to door so had perhaps 7 to 8 weeks detecting.  We did a lot of walking around for no result in many places then one day ...
I found 35g in one day (3 were showing on the surface for 32g).  All up my wife and I got 2ozs.  Pretty happy but like I said a lot of walking around, for weeks sometimes, without a good target to be heard.
A couple of pics ....

Sometimes wonder how many of the iron stone coated gold gets thrown away as hot rocks?
Found a few out Siberia way that jumped out of the spoon to the magnet, close inspection showed a glimmer of gold.
Solid gold with a thin coating.

Thanks guys

I gave a warning to my wife when the ironstone speccie was on the magnet. But yes - saw the glimmer of gold (a bit bigger now though).

ttrash - you certainly get around. I'd love to be planning a trip but it may have to wait awhile. Lots to do around this house and with the kids moving into houses. Mind - the odd day or so may hopefully end up being a week away soon.
