Re: white paper for the 7k
There is an alternative that people seem to be using quite successfully to get rid of the hee haws, even after doing all the ground balance things -
Wind the sensitivity up to max 18 to 20
Wind the threshold back until you can no longer hear it. A level of 8 was used an example when I saw this being attempted. I was up around 27 to 30 when I was trying, which is where I normally run. But maybe not anymore.
Volume at 8 to 11 - adjust to suit.
Choose whatever ground type or detecting setting ya like and away ya go - no hee haws but still hear the targets.
There's good guys getting good results using these settings. One is becoming a household name he's finding that much gold! Some are also scrubbing coil plates on the ground but getting more than enough gold to pay for new ones.
Worth a try? It worked for the guys I saw yesterday. We tested on a tiny piece against a hee haw nightmare of dirt and the signal came through clear as a bell. Much clearer than being swamped by bad ground balance. I doubt it'd work on a true salt pan so "don't try that at home children".
Thanks Banjo - glad that you heard the mighty Brunswick roaring through yer camp!! It was a pleasant surprise! No cup of tea though?
Poured down in Leo last night, all roads closed, can't move, laptop packed up this morning, this is my backup, can't get any tyres, etc, etc, etc What fun!

Well you know what they say about "Necessity" and "Invention" people using the gear will always find a way that works, and not really what the user manual says to do.

Let me see now,,,,,,,"intelligence and TV" in the same sentence. Surely an oxymoron or a contradiction in terms at least. I have my sat TV for Moto GP and the cricket. All else is rubbish except for the weather girl who has nice legs.

Re: white paper for the 7k
Yeah, Robert, I have this here new Win 8 lappy registered for a free Win 10 upgrade. But I'm loathe to do it as my original lappy failed last week and honest to God, afer so many things have gone wrong, I am now paranoid about changing anything, even my undies, 'cos London to a brick something will stuff up. If I leave it alone I can at least stay in touch and get the 'net.
I had a feeling the old one would stuff up that's why a I brought both of 'em.
