GPX 4500 power cable
Hi guys, I was out on the weekend and started to get a lot of crackling/static sounds through my headphones. Ended up changing the power cable and that seemed to fix it.
Does anyone repair the cables or do you just buy another one?
Regards, John.

Just cut about 25mm off either end and resolder, good for another 1000 miles.
We always have the end that connects to the box threaded through the cover to stop that end "waggling" while swinging.
And yes, have a spare or two in your box of tricks.

Yes, as Nightjar says, the lead to the control box can cop a lot of flexing right at the plug causing a wire fracture and failure.
This is especially so with a shortish "curly" lead.
I cut and shaped a thin piece of aluminium and very securely taped it to the lead at that point. This removed the tight bend at the plug, no more failures.

Re: GPX 4500 power cable
I ended up getting my cable repaired by Geoff at VKTeksolutions. Good job and half the price of a new one. Highly recommended, quick service and communications. thanks Geoff.
