Gpz7000 20" coil Empty Gpz7000 20" coil

Alright I've been waiting for someone to start a discussion about the rumours of the coil for the Zed, I have a few questions so I thought I'd put it out there.
I've been waiting for Minelab to release new coils for the 7k. Any word on a release date? Will it punch deeper? Will I have to go over ground I've already covered? The weight doesn't bother me but I've heard it' will be made with hollow wires in the coil to keep the weight down to similar with the 14"????? Are Minelab also looking at smaller sizes?

Ray, are you going to have a tester in the shop for us to try before parting with our cash?

Forgive me if these are simple sounding questions, I just thought someone should start the discussion

Trashfinder, Is this all hearsay or did you get the information from a Minelab official?
Waste of time discussing rumours.

It's more than rumours, minelab are working on a new 19 " to 20 " coil for the GPZ 7000, that has been stated on Steve hershbacks forum in the USA , Steve is one person in this game that gets it right most times

Posted 28 February

Gary Schafer of Minelab America announced today at the GPAA Las Vegas Show that a 19" - 20" coil is officially in the works. Great effort and therefore time are going into trying to keep this coil as close to the weight of the stock 14" x 13" coil as is absolutely possible. No projected time frame for release was announced but since they are still hard at work in it the implication was not any time super soon. Sorry, wish I had more than that to offer but at least you know now a big coil will happen before a small coil

that was an insert from Steves forum

just cant wait for the new coil and YES will have a test coil HOPEFULLY if Minelab offer me one to kick it along...here's hoping.

regards

Sounds good Ray,
I'll look forward to having a bit more ground coverage when searching the open areas.
It will be interesting to see how the target, size / depth / signal response is with the 20"

Cheers

If it's any interest to you, Fletcher from ML, at our prospectors meeting in gero last week, stated they would be bringing out an approx 20" lightweight eliptical for the z before July.
And they would be doing a deal for those that paid 10.7k for the z.
Cheers
