Re: 19" test coil arrived.
well shes a u beaut coil alright.
the coil is certainly going to cover a heap of ground compared to the 14" coil.
U will need a bungy cord or a modified harness to make life easy for anyone to carry the beast around.
It would have to be the heaviest coil around on the market today.
if u have a bad shoulder or hip or knee and u r struggling with the 14" coil then there is no way u will survive a day with this coil.
it certainly runs smooth, had Auto Smooth=OFF Both General and Xtra Deep
I really struggled to lift it over the spinny especially the 1' -2' bushes. It is a 2 handed piece of equipment without any assistance of a bungy etc.
The up side was that I believe the coil would easily PING anything that was hiding under those bushes.
A couple of mates went out the back of Kal with theirs and they pinged a sub grammer plus 15 more for a total of 8.5 grams. Deepest was 350mm and that was a 2 gram piece.
This was an area that was hammered with the 14" and every other coil. --maybe crappy detectorists--or they were all pissed known this mob..
they simply used factory setting and a swingy arm plus a new proto type harness which worked a treat. Mind u these characters don't have any spinny down that part of the world let alone scrub.
so theres a brief to date with more to come..

Re: 19" test coil arrived.
32 coils are in stock ready for a 14th release.
i have taken the liberty to put a couple of bits of tape to hold the skid plate in position due to the spinny up here trying to stuff everything up--works a treat,

Re: 19" test coil arrived.
If, as I have been told, that no coils can be released prior top the 14th November, how come we have persons using theirs out the back of Kal?
Are these people "Joe Public" or ML dealers? I hope it's the latter.

Re: 19" test coil arrived.
went out again for another run..
Noise cancel and ferrite is a good start.
if u r tecting deep gravels then xtra deep in normal is a good way to go however I usually leave the Z in General-Normal-- sensitivity 13-17--AS OFF--speaker is on 19.
I nailed 10 grams without too much effort for the short time I was playing around.
I left a few targets in the ground coz I couldn't be bothered digging the small receptors that I was picking up.
Keep an eye out for snakes--8pm and the king brown we saw was a lively character and if u r not expecting them --then they will put the fear of god in yah boots and yah heart will be pumping.
snake gaiters are a very good form of defence. U wont get laugh at your fashion sense but u will be as safe as houses. unless u fall ass up then that will be a different kind of love affair.
Its disappointing to see all the open deep and shallow holes.

Re: 19" test coil arrived.
by the way I weighed the smallest piece and it came in at a whopping 0.2gram.
yep and that's with a 19" coil so u may want to get use to the frustration of finding fly shit or simply move on looking for larger targets.
