Howdy Folks.

New member here, Name is Mitch.

I came here to protentially try out some designs I have been working on, I work as an Electronics Engineer and Networking Engineer (Comms) Here in WA. I have been building a few experimental coils (Mainly used for FDX Animal Tags) However are resonant at 100-300Khz I have been building some custom electronics to drive the coils (6 in Phased Array) and certainly keen to try them out. I have had success with 3 Phased coils at a depth of about 1 Meter picking up a 5c Coin, But looking to increase the array for higher sensitivity and not just range.

Also looking at joining a few Outings, I am happy to drive within 400~kms of Perth.

Happy to chat, Hope to talk soon.

Sounds interesting nightsky, are these mono coils in the phased array and what sort of size are we talking about, like for hand held detectors or on a frame with wheels or skid/drag type. also are these going to work with say our current Minelab GPX or GP type detectors.

I would like to hear more.

cheers dave

Very much custom design, Custom sensing electronics too.

At the moment its a platform, I have been considering putting it on a chasis for remote control.

All very much prototype at the moment, Yes they are Mono coil.

Are you aware of the type of terrain your remote would be traversing?
Raising and lowering over rocks getting under trees and shrubs?
Good luck.

Hi Nightsky,

Detectors are a dime a dozen out there, what makes a good detector is its ability to deal with mineralised ground and the ultimate is full discrimination between different metals

Keep your cards close to your chest as many a detector designer has been shot down all in the name of competition, we all will cherish the day that we can have a serious contender to machines we use today

Looking forward to your development of what seems an extraordinary machine, but please be very, very wary of what you say publically

Cheers, Ron
