Speaker Bracket Mod
after consulting with the engineers and a few drunks down at the workshop, we came to the conclusion that we needed to further improve the xternal speaker bracket as to allow the handle with the speaker attached to sit flush with the unit when folded up.
so its of to the head offices of Carlton Dry, Hann Super Dry and Coke Zero and a few pizzas to get the grey matter working, to redesign the extension modification..
hopefully production will take place with the first brackets in about 3-4 weeks---this is WA.
Don't forget that the xternal speaker will not work on the SDC without a booster thus the B&Z with its own power supply works well.
If there is another booster out there that works then please let me know.
this whole unit including the head phone adapter $95, the bracket $30, xternal speaker $52 and the B&Z booster $150 works out at $327
forum members SPECIAL price is $270

Re: Speaker Bracket Mod
getting there slowly..a few more bends--

almost right--but not quiet down in the fold away position..
so tomorrow will cut and reweld the bracket to allow the arm and coil to fold down properly.

once the cover goes on the B&Z booster fits on the back via the clip on the booster.

more to come..

She's a good thing mate. You won't miss a thing with this set up......unless it's a bit deep for it, then the 7000 comes into it's own.

Re: Speaker Bracket Mod
This is my SDC kit. It doesn't fold completely down but still fits nicely into my backpack with all my other essential stuff. The speaker will come off easilly with a screw driver if required.

I have also forgotten to mention that the speaker has a 6.5mm headphone jack on the right hand side. This jack is controlled by the volume knob and works very well also. Hearing loss could eventuate if you are not carefull! That could come in handy on a windy day and most importantly to me it still gives you the headphone option with ease.

I have been sourcing a new speaker / amplifier in-one which could make this set up even more simple!
Stay tuned!
Cheers
