How many times in one day does this happen?

Post by Wedgetail on Sun 20 Sep 2015, 9:51 am

I'm back doing some pushing for a mate. I always chain it out before I push to get rid of the rubbish and pick up the surface stuff that would otherwise end up in the dump on the first cut.

But how many times would this happen, in one day, on the same patch?

I got a signal, started scratching, it got better.  Kept on digging. The ground was getting to the "lets get the jackhammer" stage - so I did. Got the genny cracked it up, plugged in but one more sweep before starting just to be certain where I'd start hammering. The signal was louder than before. I probed around and it was on old nail!! Bollocks!!! I just humped the hammer and the genny for nothing and I was sweating like a junkie with a mortgage. Of well,,,,,,,remove nail to trouser pocket, check hole. There's still a signal and out pops a one grammer!!

But the weird thing is the exact same thing happened about ten minutes later,,,,,signal, scrape, getting harder to dig, drive the jackhammer over to it, check the hole, remove nail in bottom of hole before hammering, check the hole before moving on whilst "effing and blinding",,,,,,,,,,and up pops a two grammer!!

Still looking for the next one,,,,,,,,,which should be a three grammer?? Yes?

That patch only yielded 14 grammes,,,,,,,,of which 13 grammes was from the top and the other one gramme from the pushing,,,,,,,,,. Down a about half a metre and no more. Ya get that. I seem to get it more than most. Twisted Evil Twisted Evil Twisted Evil Twisted Evil lol! It was his patch and not my choice to push it - ya get that as well!

Thus far about 4 ounces all with the Coiltek Elite and some of the bits are bloody near invisible. What a coil it is! I used to think the ML 11 inch mono was the best all purpose coil when pushing but the small targets that I'm getting are silly, they're so small but the Elite gives off a huge, unmistakeable signal.

Photos when I get a chance,,,,
