summer comes early
with temps already in the 40's id hate to see what summer has install for us this season.
I see droves of grey nomads heading south --someone must have told them theres a free pissup at Les and Peter's place, and they have packed up like no ones business and flown south like a pack of possessed ducks.
Marble Bar was 43 on the weekend and we hit 48'c in the bush scratching around and by 11am we were well and truly over it, the gold will just have to wait.
Even my Mango tree has fruit on it yet it has grown new leaves in the top section of the tree something I have never seen...the plot thickens.
we can now wait for a shower of rain.

Re: summer comes early
We had a quick squirt over 38c at Leinster. It hit 44 inside the van. It lasted about ten days and frankly it got on my tits so early in the year, so I left - plus I hadn't seen my family for more than 10 days in the last 5 months.
I gotta drop a sluice/trammel off there in a cuppla weeks and I'm not looking forward to it. Then I gotta go back IN JANUARY to commission a bigger sluice and that thought is not blowing my frock up I'll give ya the tip.
It's definitely getting warmer sooner and it's lasting longer out there and I'd even say the southern winters in the goldfields are getting colder but shorter.

Not wrong Oneday, spent 4 days out bush last week. Found a 10 grammer on the first day so thought I would stay a bit longer. Nothing much on the last 3 days so packed up and went home. Just trying to rest during the day was bad enough in the heat, the beer was ice cold though, thank god for Engels.

Re: summer comes early
What the hell is going on, we are told we are doomed with rising temperatures and then we have the coldest day in 54 years, six days into Summer?
