That's a nice little advertorial oneday.
Laverton and beyond is a place which in the past has provided some nice gold for us.

At this stage we will be visiting again next winter, plenty of pending ground showing.

Always a good meal and a beer at the pub, Chris likes the coffee at the Info centre.

That was made in 2011. Lotta water under the bridge since then. I like Laverton and I'd rather be there than Leonora. It seems more friendly despite the high number of transients. It's been good to me over the years and I know a lot of the 'back alley patches" that didn't get hammered by blow-ins,,,, clown

It was my supply line for the many years I was up around Duketon, Mt Morgans and Sunrise Dam. Them were the days!!

Not sure what's happening there these days but the gold mines are not doing real well, Crescent been replaced by Focus and they've shut down. Minara Resources at Murrin may close soon. Laverton get's smaller each year. I recall when WMC pulled out of Windarra nickel mine in the 80s. I estimated at the time there was me and 7 other people in the place!!! It was a real ghost town!

Yeah, the Burtville operations, Brightstar (old mikado group)closed and the Hack well road is deteriorating back to what it was.

Wedgetail, what was the old WMC mine about 10k. S of Ida Hill. Deep shafts with plenty of old gear left behind with WMC branded on it.
There is an open truck tray body with rough bench seating down each side. Would have been a bloody rough ride coming out from Laverton to start a shift.

Some nice hidden gullies out that way, just have to put the effort in.

Yeah, we are "blow ins", but we pay our dues and leave a bit of money behind.
We also clean up some of the rubbish left by "non tourists". Smile
