Hi Robert, yeah i rang last night, he has gas stove/hotwater so got it a lot better then some, he was going to walk down and buy himself a piece of battered fish for dinner, there are some reports that power may not be on till next week for some.
The one thing that really surprised me in all this was the relative where we were staying works at an aged care facility and they don't have any backup power options, wouldn't you think with the amount they charge for aged care it would be mandatory for all facilities to have back up generators ?
