New 14" coil
there will be a new concept 14" coil coming out in April hopefully in the first couple of weeks which is claimed to penetrate deeper than existing coils on the market currently.
I have ordered 12 new ELITE COILS for punters that r trying to sniff deeper gold out which are suited to the GPX and earlier detectors, without hanging themselves trying to buy a GPZ.
Will have a couple of test coils if u r in Ktown.
will keep members informed..

Gday Ray
Do you know if these are along the lines of the triple wound Super D coil on the Z, or just a better mono?
cheers

Re: New 14" coil
i have only picked up bits and pieces about this coil brett, seems it has better emi protection and designed similar to the zed's coil giving it some good punching power and reduced lightning/electronic interference. i should have one fairly soon and will write up a report on how it goes.
cheers

Re: New 14" coil
Hi Ismael
They r pretty confident with its performance, thus the production phase.
As soon as I get one I'll let u know and u can take it for a test drive.
Hoping to get 2 demo coils but will wait and see what they have sent me.
Mind u we r still waiting for the picks to roll up x east.

Any feedback on the new elite mono?
If any good, might get you to airbag me one before I head out next Monday.
Cheers Phil

Re: New 14" coil
Just a quick bit of feedback on the new coil from today.
2 small bits on some well worked ground and plenty of steel slithers. I was quite surprised by how sensative the coil was.
I run the 2300 over the faintest target I got all day and it picked it up easily. That ended up being a piece of gold half the size of a match head 2 inches down. I was impressed for a 14 inch coil all the same.
I never got to dig anything deeper than 6 inches and all the targets were loud and clear even though they were rubbish.
There was quite a lot of EMI later in the afternoon but a retune seemed to settle things down. It was quieter then the standard 11 mono when I gave it a try though.
The coil was not bump sensative at all.
I messed around with lots of settings and ended up with these. Running the coil in normal had way too much ground noise for me and when it was swung close too or rubbed on the ground it sounded like I had a target. Messed with my head so dummed the 5000 down a little.
General
Special
Fixed
Special fine gold
Slow
Rx14
stabiliser 8
I will give it a go again tomorrow in some different ground and hopefully dig a decent hole! Ktown will have the 7000 to compare with and he knows the 5000 from back to front.
Stay tuned.

Re: New 14" coil
cheers Reefdog. the coil sounds like it is doing its job, less EMI must result in more targets and therefore more gold.

Re: New 14" coil
Hmmm,,,,,,,,,After spending 10.7k dollars on a GPZ 7000, I'm not sure I'm enjoying this news about a new "sooper dooper" coil for the 5000!!
I've got a 5000 (as well as the new 7000) but I'm gonna be a tad pissed off if this coil makes a 5000 "40%" deeper than standard 5000 - for just another "four thousand dollars",,,,,,,,,,or even less!
This is gonna be interesting Ray!

Re: New 14" coil
Reefdogs computer is playing up so he sent this through to post and from the limited time seeing this coil in action on hot ground it looks the goods.
We gave the coil a work out at the most well known "Patch" not far from karratha today. This area has seen every detector known to man over the last few years.
We tested a number of targets found by the sdc and 7000 to see how the Elite went on the 5000.
Changed a couple of settings from yesterday, upped the stabiliser to 10 and gain to 15.
The coil run quite in some of the noisiest ground around but was easily effected by train noise and emi spikes that also effected all our other detectors today.
Signal clarity on any target was very good and like yesterday it picked up surprisingly small targets for a 14inch coil.
Highlight for the day was a nice target picked up by Ktown on the 7000. We run the elite over the undug target and clearly could pick up a signal. We continued using the elite and unearthed a nice speci from a depth of over 12 inches. The depth and signal response was a welcome surprise for both of us.

Targeting was no issue with this coil but we did notice that the most sensitive areas of the coil were from 8 to 11 and 1 to 4 O'clock.
Is this the answer for all us GPX owners who are not ready to part with the cash and upgrade?
I am not sure yet! It is a damm good coil from what we have seen so far.
I dont think its going to make my 5000 magically transform into a 7000!
Will I buy one?
Yes!

Re: New 14" coil
Hi All, Glad to be a part of the forum...
Sounds like the 14" MONO ELITE is getting a good run and test and I am pleased you are enjoying the performance...
We are building the initial batch for the Aussie dealers now so we should hit the release date of the 27th April nicely.
If there is a chance, can we use an image or two you have shown here reefdog for our Facebook page to let others know of the results you found.
Please let me know.
Best regards,
Trevor @ Coiltek.
