I see the SDC there, just wondering if you check the response on any other detectors ?

Re: quartz crystal specie
sure did gary, i found the first rock containing gold with the GPX5000 and when back in camp also tested it with a goldbug and another older metal discriminating unit i cant remember the name of. i did find a load of pyrite in a big rock i spent all day bashing up to get at the target, came back with a boot full of quartz only to find fools gold, me the fool haha

Re: quartz crystal specie
I also meant to add that the sdc found all the other large rock species, i love using it as its a great machine and always have a hard choice in the mornings but i usually take out the 5K and if i find a patch clean it up using the sdc. yes its good to get into some serious gold darren, over 46g so far and still going.

Re: quartz crystal specie
That's great news Marty!
At least this time you can camp on your new bolder patch to save the drive from the middle of flogged G-Ghost patch areas and the worry someone is following you each morning by heaps of campers about that place.
My plan, to head out for virgin ground on the bike once I got my bearings disappeared with bits of piston out the exhaust for others to detect in the area on the 1st day.
Was a fun week, nice break but sadly too sober while being sick and with all the women around.
Make sure you give us another update on the rock kicking and crushing.
Deet.

Re: quartz crystal specie
thanks guys,
Hey Deet, I will probably go north of Meeka this time and may drop back there on the way home for a few days, see what happens. im sure i will be the one to find the bits of piston and rings for ya, hopefully sitting on a big chunk of gold hehe. nothing worse than being crook when out detecting but you did well buddy, be good to catch up again or a swing sometime.
i re panned the waist washed out of the pan and ended up with another 0.8 grams so i officially got 62.34g just over 2 oz for the week, whooohooo.
