sdc battery problem
had a mate come in today with a charging problem with his sdc batteries ----not charging properly.
tried a second charger that was working OK and yes there was a problem with the batteries not contacting the charging connections in the charger,,
remedy was to get a bit of emery and lightly clean the base and nipple of the batteries and have another go,,
so far so good -- will see what happens by the weekend or weekend after.
so if u do have a hic cup with batteries --try the emery first.

Re: sdc battery problem
If the charger is anything like mine (an enecharger) the centre two slots have the positive strip recessed further into the housing than the outer two slots. All batteries are not created equal and some have a positive terminal that protrudes further than others. So if you mark the bigger ones and charge them in the middle slots problem goes away.
Or you could do like I did and bring the Dremel out from the toolbox and shave the plastic on the two centre slots. No more false charging and it appeals to the greenie in me by making things equal and fair
/sarc off.
Next you have to get a piece of alfoil and carefully fold it so that you have four thicknesses. This goes in the 2300 on top of the batteries before you do up the endcap.
No more of the annoying restarts when you bump the thing.
And when people tell you theyt don't go very deep, nod wisely and agree, while trying to work out where they have been. 3 grammer at half a pick handle depth (300mm) is really shallow!

Re: sdc battery problem
I have to use emery on the charging contacts on our UHF handhelds quite frequently Ray. One in particular is worse than the other.

Re: sdc battery problem
on the point of depth--if u guys are running the 2300 as is then u will be blown away when u add an external speaker with volume control and a B&Z booster and mount the speaker on the handle so its in yah face.
